What is European Volunteering?
European volunteering is part of the European Solidarity Corps (ESC). It is a program funded by the European Union that allows young people (aged 18–30) to live in another country and help a local community. It is not a job, but a journey of learning through helping others.

 

Our Mission in Białystok
We are two volunteers staying here for 6 months. Our goal is to bring "European spirit" to the local community.

 

What we do every day:

Culture Sharing:  we share our traditions, music, and stories to show the children how diverse the world is.

English & Learning: We introduce new topics in English through games and discover new rhythms of learning.

Sharing with Others: We exchange ideas and experiences with other international volunteers living in the city.

Erasmus vs. Volunteering: What’s the difference?
Many people confuse them, but they are different:

Erasmus+: This is mostly for students. You go to a university in another country to study and take exams.

European Volunteering (ESC): This is for social action. You go to help a school, an NGO, or a community. You learn by "doing" and helping.

 

About the European Union (EU)
- A Brief History
The EU was created after World War II. The main idea was simple: if European countries work and trade together, they will live in peace and avoid future wars.

- Where is the EU based?
The main headquarters are in Brussels, Belgium.

Why? Brussels is in the heart of Europe. It is a place where different cultures (Latin and Germanic) meet, making it a perfect spot for everyone to talk and make decisions together.
